Yes, two blog posts within little more than 24 hours. Sometimes it rains, sometimes it pours. :)
I'm still not finished working on my brooches, I started making more so that when I get the epoxy out I can do several at a time. I will get around to finishing them soon, especially since two are for long overdue gifts.
It struck me that I hadn't made a card for my husband. Woe is me, I was so caught up with the thought that I couldn't afford to buy him anything, that I completely overlooked the fact that I can MAKE him something. Yup, this whole cardmaking thing is still new to me, lol. So here is a quick post with what I made.
Materials used:
Recollection white A2 card blank
Recollection cardstock
Neenah 110 lb brilliant white for the hearts
An old SU heart stamp, don't know what the set is called
An old Sizzix embossing folder that was given to me, don't know what it's called
Martha Stewart embossing powder in ladybug and carnation
All Night Media embossing powder in silver
Graphic 45 Time to Flourish paper
I love that embossing on the background! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! I have to admit, embossing folders are one of my favorite techniques. I love texture and dimension, and they cover both! The only drawback is cost... I need to love techniques that are cheap! LOL.
DeleteI love that embossing on the background! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet and made from the heart!
ReplyDeleteThanks Paige! At first I tried to find a card to CASE, but I decided that I needed to make something for my hubby from scratch, since he has been so supportive of my new hobby. :)
DeleteGreat embossing folder choice. Great card.
ReplyDeleteThanks Crystal! I struggled picking one at first, I didn't think I had anything that would work... I thought this one was too girly, but I think it actually worked out really well. I had embossed a different one at first, but it really didn't work... that's the beauty of embossing, you can always try a few different ones to see what works best. :)
DeleteYou did a great job with your card design- made from the heart : ) I love the heats and the DP strip you added onto the embossed BG. And, I bet hubby loved this card- my hubby just loves the cards I make him- its the thought more than anything.
ReplyDeleteThank you Shelly! Yes, I think he really did like it. I don't know if his brain is pre-conditioned, but instead of the usual 'Ahh' my regular cards get, this one got a smile and a 'Thank you honey'. :)
DeleteLove the way your card came out!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb!
DeleteVery pretty embossing, I love the popped up hearts too!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting Miriam, I appreciate the kind words! :)
